Driving a shared electric Jaguar car in Amsterdam cheaper than riding a shared scooter!

Introducing Sixt Share to Amsterdam

The most diverse shared electric vehicle fleet in The Netherlands yet. This project is very ambitious and it’s only just starting out! If you sign up for Sixt Share right now, you can grab this chance to drive the Jaguar I-Pace without paying for it. (Offer expiring after the start of July).

If this is not the time for shared electric mobility to explode, I don’t know what is. I am at a loss for words (doesn’t happen that often, ask any of my friends). Right now you just have to head over to the website, download the app, upload your documents and you’re ready to drive your own Jaguar I-Pace for €99,- a day (200km included). While that might not sound spectacular, you can also just drive around the block. Starting at €0,25/min that’s considerably cheaper than the electric scooters that felyx offers in town.

Four euros, that’s what I paid for a ride around town from RAI (South) to Rembrandtplein (Central).

Let me remind you that the price difference of eight cents a minute compared to the best offer on the CITIGOe iV (blog coming up soon) feels very small. If you’re curious what to expect when you press unlock in the Sixt app, look at the video I shot when I encountered my first Jag in the streets of Amsterdam.

The fleet

Last week I tried the ŠKODA CITIGOe iV (blog coming up, €0,19/min base price). A brand new four person vehicle, that weighs less than half of the Jaguar. Consumption is great, driving efficiency, fluidity. It’s such a perfect city vehicle. Easy to park!

The BMW i3 (starts at €0,22/min) is a classic, and has a whole vibe of it’s own. With suicide doors and other design cues that set it apart from the others. Fully built for one pedal driving. BMW has perfected this for almost ten years now. City range is enormous especially now that it’s summer.

The Nissan LEAF (starts at €0,21/min) is an all purpose five seater that has quite some storage space. It’s also the one that I still have to do more test drives with, I never took it out of the country yet.

Even though VW will (soon?) stop producing the e-Golf (starts at €0,23/min), Sixt managed to get a hold of a couple of new ones. It’s an electric Golf, what else do you need to know? Let’s hope they add some ID.3’s before the end of the year!

If you sign up for Sixt Share today you can get in and drive for free. The first twenty euros are in the bank. This offer is valid till the beginning of July. Enjoy the ride!
